IAORANAI am His Majesty King POETAI IWelcome to those who visit our land, the land of our ancestors. Our people, the Ma'ohi, have endured centuries of silence. But our Flame has never been extinguished.Today, we open our doors.
Our doors to visibility, for justice,
peace and the recognition of our legitimacy.Nothing more. Nothing less.Glory be to God.
May the Kings feel well.
Long live the MA'OHI People.Mauruuru roa.

OUR STORY - WHO WE AREWe are the Indigenous Ma'ohi People of Tahiti and the Islands.
Our nation has existed since time immemorial. We had our own royalty, our own laws,
our own Indigenous tribunal, and our own chieftaincies. On May 13, 1819, King POMARE II proclaimed
the first written laws of Ma'ohi Nui. These laws were our pride, our governance, our identity. On June 29, 1880, a protectorate treaty was signed with France. The agreement stated that all land
matters would remain under
the jurisdiction of the Indigenous tribunal.Three years later, France violated that treaty.
The French Court of Cassation
condemned France on November 22, 1883.But we never disappeared. On March 17, 2018, we, the descendants of our ancestors,
decided to reestablish our Royal Indigenous State. We have our own Constitution,
a treaty deposited with the United Nations in 2021,
and a traditional governance structure. We are not a claim. We are a nation.

OUR GOAL
We do not want war.
We do not want hatred. We want recognition. Our goal is clear:
1. The implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples on our territory.2. Recognition by France of our Indigenous identity, our legitimacy, and our right to self-determination.3. The restitution of our ancestral lands.4. The right to govern our people according to our laws, our culture, and our vision. We do not ask for permission to exist. We ask for the law to be applied.Mauruuru roa
